2009 Year of..... change?

Well, looking  back at the fine year that the Galbreath's have had in 2009, it certainly had it's shares of ups and downs. There was the good, the bad, the stressful, the beautiful, the relaxing and those days that made us dig deep to that inner strength we have.  We grew to relize how important family is, to rely upon one another and to remind ourselves that our lives really are as exciting as we make them!!! So, sit back and here is our year in review! :)

January

Say good bye Takata (Inflation Systems, Inc,) and hello to unemployment (or as I called in "unenjoyment!")

February

Good bye "unenjoyment", hello First Response, Inc. (A security firm for a local business)

Played for the Missoula Children's Threater local performance (I believe this makes 13 years now) then a week later, ew traveled to Ritzville and watched our niece, Eliza perform in their production.

Wade celebrated his 37th birthday (still can't find too many gray hairs, yet!)

March

Good bye First Response, Inc, hello "unenjoyment" again! UGGH!

Julie attended BSA National Camp School at Camp Thunderbird in Olympia

Went on the Annual Girl's Get away (my mom, sister Lynette and this year, sister-in-law, Melissa) spent some relaxing days at Discovery Bay, WA.   It was nice to relax and not do much.  We did some sight seeing and spent time getting lots of r and r.

My brother, John graduated from Washington State University with his Doctrate of Pharmacy.

My baby brother, Kevin graduating with his A.A.S. from Big Bend Commuinity College.  He is the 7th of us to graduate from BBCC.  Way to go Kevin!

July

Julie taught summer quarter at BBCC

Wade continued to work for Medstar and has driven many a miles.

August

Celebrated our 12th wedding aniiversary. 

Didn't do anything more than dinner and a movie, but that's okay.

September

Julie decided to take a "leap of faith" and take a leave of absense from teaching English as a Second Language.  She began a long-term assignment teaching 3rd grade at Peninsula Elementary and loved teaching!

Julie, Lynette and my mom went and saw Wicked.  Loved it!!!!  Thanks for the awesome birthday gift Net! What musical are we going to see next year? Hmmmm.....

 (Sorry Wade, maybe one of these days we can go to another musical, if only work didn't get in the way!)

Julie and a their good friend, Lyle Sainsbury (Wade's Assistant Scoutmaster) recieve their Woodbadge beads.  I am a beaver and he's a bobwhite.  Lots of work, but learned a lot.  "Back to Gillwell..... happy land, I'm going to work my ticket if I can."

Julie celebrated her birthday at a surprised birthday party planned by Lynette.  It was a surprise. 

October

Our newest niece, Madeleine Amelia Rackham is born.  Welcome little one!

November

Wade continued to drive all around for Medstar.

Julie continued to teach 3rd grade as well as piano lessons.

Had a great Thanksgiving dinner in Ritzville with the part of the Galbreath clan. (John, Cari and their girls were in Arizona and Grant, Carlyn and their boys hosted a dinner at their house).

Then two days later had another yummy dinner hosted by Mike and Melissa.  Thanks to the host and hostess with the mostest. 

December

My sister, Laura graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Care and Education from Gainsville State College.  Way to go sistah! :)  She will start a new job in January with Easter Seals. All her hard work paid off!  I am so proud of her and all that she has accomplished.

Had a great time back there and got most of our Christmas shopping done.  Wish I could have stayed longer, maybe next time!

Spent Christmas Eve in Ritzville with the Galbreath clan.  Had a great time and was reminded the true meaning of the holidays, as I saw wonder and excitement in my nieces and nephews eyes.  It was a great time by all.  I documented at http://www.photobucket.com/ and then we

spent Christmas with the Rackham clan and had great food, gifts and a good time was had by all.

So, as 2009 winds down to a close, you can see that we truly are blessed people.  We have our health, shelter, employment , love and each other and most importantly, family.  2009 was not the easiest of years.  What year is when you start out facing "unenjoyment"?  However, we survived and managed to be stronger because of it.  We love family, each other and life.  We are looking forward to many other adventures that life has in store for us in this upcoming year.

Let's take the time to recommit ourselves to be a little better and to do a little better.  Let's reach out to others and help them on their journey as well.  Let's make our lives as exciting as we can.  Here's to a great 2010.
