Where has the time gone???

Well, if you follow my blog, you will notice that I have severly neglected it.  Although as I have spent some time blog-hopping, I am noticing that I am not the only one.  Guess there's just too much to do and not enough time to do it in?  Or something like that.  Anyways...here's a recap of the our happenings.  

November-I was presented the opportunity to teach in a long-term position for a kidnergarden class.  I have to be honest, this is probably one of the hardest, yet most rewarding things I have done.  I managed to survive and am a better person for it.  I am pretty sure this is the main reason why I fell so behind in blogging.

I continued with piano lessons and took on one more student. It was interesting, but I survived.

I also played for the local high school production of Annie.  Man, was that music tough, but it was a good challenge and I got some play money to spend.

December-We decided earlier in the year to go spend Christmas with my sister and her family in Georgia. We had a great time catching up, spending time together, laughing, playing, visiting, shopping and just enjoying each other's company.  It was great.  We missed Christmas with the rest of the Rackham gang and the Galbreath clan, but I know it was where we needed to be.

Good bye 2013, hello 2014.  As the new year rang in, we continued to work (me teaching kindergarten and Wade driving for Medstar).  Between work, church responsibilities, life in general and more work, we didn't do much else.  

I also played for the Missoula Children's Theater.  I think this marks my 20th+ year.  I enjoy doing it and it is a short time committment.  Besides, who doesn't enjoy the arts.

Spring Break-Usually I do a sisters/mom get away, but with Lynette working in Othello, our spring break schedules were off by a week.  So, Wade and I decided to venture up north and visit my brother Kevin and his wife, Allyson.  We were going to take the train, but decided to drive instead.  It really is a beautiful drive and we had a great visit.  (More pictures to come, as soon as I get them off my phone!)

I also started spring break out with recieving an award from the scouts-it is the silver beaver.  It was nive to be nominated and I did not expect anything from it.  I serve there because I believe in the scouting program and the good it does in the lives of the boys.

So after that, we continued to work, work and work some more.  Played a bit as well.  Our nephew, Wyatt, graduated from high school.  Yeah!  It has been fun to see him grow up and become a great young man.  He is preparing to serve a church mission in Chile and leaves mid-August.  We are proud of him. 

Summer is now here.  Yeah!!!  Since June 11th, I  survived the school year teaching kinder, packed up a classroom, spendt some quality time with one of my nephews, and one of my nieces, went to the pool, got my house cleaned and now am getting ready to go back to summer camp for five and a half weeks.

October's Currently.....

I Love Fall!

The change of the seasons is now upon us.  Ah...the crisp air, leaves falling, time for sweashirts, more football, hot chocolate....the list goes on and on.....gotta love it!  

Lately, I haven't been in the mood to blog,(I feel I do not have a lot to say), so I thought I'd do a "currently" post instead, so......

Listening & Loving~

I have a rather eclectic music selection and listen to a variety of music.  Because I work in the schools, kids often ask me if I have heard of different artists and such.  Sometimes, I will play Pandora while they are working.  Last month, one girl asked me to play Imagine Dragons.  I have to be honestly, I hadn't hear of them, but gotta say....currently I am Listening AND Loving them. Give them an ear, you might enjoy!

Thinking~

Throughout the weeks, I have had time to think about a lot of different things. Sometimes when I am driving, I will turn the radio off and just let my mind wander. Sometimes it is quite therapeutic. Sometimes, depressing and other times, I enjoy it.  Anyways....I have found myself thinking lately about a lot of different things, but lately, it has been this....

Wanting~

I think every fall, I have the same want, but today.....I am wanting to be able to sleep before 1 AM and getting a good night sleep.  Wish me luck! ;)

Needing~

I guess  you could say there are a lot of things I needm but overall, I am blessed with what I have in life. Yes, there are things that I would like, but don't need.  Perhaps, as the days get shorter and it gets darker earlier, I am going to say that I need.....motivation....motivation to do better, motivation to become the best self I can be, motivation to get healthy, motivation to....

Summer 2013 recap

Well, school started 4 days ago and I have already worked 3 of them.  It was for a teacher and classroom I have worked in before, so it wasn't too bad.  It was an easy way to transition into the school year.  I am having a harder time transitioning this year-guess I "played" too hard this summer?  Oh well...so as promised, here is an update of my summer......

Cub Scout Day Camp~

I have been involved in CS Day Camp for almost 10 years now in various capacities.  It is a lot of fun and I enjoy it.  This year there was a lot more prep work and more frustrations, but we survived and it was a success.  Our theme was M.A.D. Scientist (Making and Developing Scientists".   One of the biggest hits was the egg drop.  We decided to do it as a camp wide event.  We invited GCFD #5 to help us out.  They were eager and willing.

Sister Time~

As stated before, my youngest brother was getting married and so my sister and niece from GA flew up.  I don't have a lot of photos with the three of us (yet), but here are a few....We did a lot crammed into a week. We always have fun and the distance has made us closer (speaking of which, I should really call her someday soon!).

Canada, eh?~

So, we traveled up north for Kevin's wedding and reception.  It was a long drive, but we broke it up and did it in two days.  We stayed in Kallispell and had a good time.  In the end, it's family and it's all worth it.  Here are a few photos.

We have other travel photos from our trip that aren't wedding related, but travel related.  Overall, we had a good time.  It was definitely a family vacation to remember! ;)

We got home and a week later, my dad and I left to work at Camp Fife for the next six weeks.  This is our third summer working together, even though we work in different capacities of camp.  I do enjoy my time up there.  It is nice to unplug (no internet, tv, computers, wifi, etc) up there, so I literally unplug.  It helps me to unwind and enjoy the great outdoors.  We aren't in tents, but in a cabin, but it is still fun.  Here are a few photos....

I got home two weeks into August, so I felt like my summer was quickly fading away.  Took a few days to recooperate, spent two days helping Lynette get her classroom all ready.  There was a lot of stuff in there from the previous teacher.  A LOT OF STUFF!!!  She needed to get it more organized and ready, as she started school on the 22nd of August.  She is enjoying it and has waited for the "right" fit...she found it.  I am proud of her and her tenacity!  She is inspiring!

Wade and I celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary.  Yep, we're legal to drive and date! ;)  ha ha....because I had been gone for six weeks, earlier in the year, I made reservations at our condo in Lake Chelan.  It was nice to go away and just relax.  We didn't do much, but relax, read, swim, lay in the sun and just enjoy each other's company.  It was a nice get away.

 

So, now it leads me to September and the wonderful world of subbing.  I subbed three days in August (the first three days of school actually).  Oh the joys.  As much fun as I had this summer, I am looking forward to getting back into a routine and enjoying the "normalcy" of life. As the song goes...."Back to life, back to reality...." yep, that's how we roll....

Goodbye summer vacation, hello school year!?!

Well, it seems like summer vacation has once again come to an end.  It just seems like yesterday it was June and school was getting out.  As you can tell, I am way behind on blogging about our ecxciting adventures, so I will recap and then post later with photos and more details!
